Standardizing Search and Retrieval and Recapping the DESI IV Conference

ediscovery_search_standards

Listen to Karl Schieneman, Founder and Owner of Review Less and friend of JurInnov talk with Jason Baron, the “godfather” of the need for search and retrieval improvement in electronic discovery and Director of Litigation for the National Archives and Records Administration; and his frequent cohort, Doug Oard, a Professor at the University of Maryland, College Park, with joint appointments in the College of Information Studies and the Institute for Advanced Computer Studies, where he is the director of the Computational Linguistics and Information Processing Lab. The topic for discussion will be a recap of the recently held DESI IV conference in Pittsburgh, PA which focused on whether we can come up with standardization for search and retrieval in E-Discovery. This show will talk about the conference as well as some of the challenges and opportunities for adopting standardization in search and retrieval. I should also add that the articles submitted at the conference were fantastic materials to read and can be downloaded for free at the following address http://www.umiacs.umd.edu/~oard/desi4/.
